People might call me ‘A not too adventurous traveller’ but here I am, complacent to the nth digree and content with the single tourist destination visited multiple times…My Goa.

Many a times I am confronted with the question – Goa? Again? Well, what do the cynical know? Those who share the Goa addiction with me can vouch for what I am about to reveal now.

As we enter this State from different sides, we see a different Goa. For those who think it is only beaches, you have missed the forests, the rivers and the orchards of Goa. For those who have seen only the famous temples and Churches, you have missed streets dotted with tiny chapels and small walk-in temples. Again for those who have visited only the prominent large beaches of Goa have missed the hidden gems – the tiny hidden small beaches.

Every time I visit Goa which is quarterly, I discover something new. This time, we drove down to Goa from Thane via the Dandeli forest in Karnataka. The rich evergreen forest was an additional bonus to our journey to Goa. Entering Goa from Karnataka side, we experienced lovely roads and scenic views.

South Goa is very much underrated but thankfully it is a blessing in disguise as most of the beaches are not at all crowded. The fun is probably more for quiet people like us. When I was staying in Guld, it was my dream to spend X’mas and New Year in Goa for its vibe and fun. I have managed to do it for two consecutive years and I plan to spend 2023 year end here too.  The live music, continental and Goan cuisine is boasted by some of my favourite joints in South Goa. Being a vegetarian, I always thought that I would never get good vegetarian cuisine in Goa but that is a myth. Some of the most awesome, delicious, mouth watering cuisine I have tasted only in Goa.

A two wheeler ride in the beautiful and clean streets of Goa is like riding a helicopter. The houses are so well kept and decorated for X’mas and New Year that it gladdens the heart and the lights all around just light up your heart too. The last New Year, the transition from 2022 to 2023 one of my most memorable times. We (My husband and I) strolling down the streets of Cavellossim chose a friendly restaurant playing loive music which was hald enclosed and half open, to spend our New Year eve. The second next thing that I love after teaching is dancing. We started dancing around 9pm and went us to almost 1am. Strangers (individuals, couples, groups, families) all joined in and it was the most amazing time of my life. We were just five minutes away from the sea and the New Year eve culminated in fire works on the sea side. We strolled our way back into our resort happy and content with yet another romantic stay at Goa with a new experience.
Goa is a place where every tourist can find something to interest him..Be it peace, quiet and reading a book or a fun, frolic and dancing away the nights. Its vast expanses of the forests and sea absorb everyone and crates memories of a vacation customized for every individual.

Looking forward to spend the 2023 New Year eve again.
